Subject: 10% ethanol $.23 cheaper than ethanol free.. RFS.. Growth Energy Ad.

We got a new gasoline retail outlet moving into Hutchinson Kansas and they are having a gasoline war.  The other day you could fill up with 10% ethanol 87 octane for $1.549..  you could fill up with 89 octane with ethanol for $1.799.. and they had an ethanol free option.. 87 octane for $1.779.. 23 cents a gallon MORE than the ethanol option!!!

We got into a discussion below about policy.. and how China is employing our policy of the 1980's where the government tried to support prices by accumulating stocks.. some of which is now NOT in very good condition.  I mentioned that our policy TODAY is much better where instead of putting corn in a bin to rot we are using the surplus to LOWER GASOLINE PRICES for the country (see above..)  Instead of using MTBE to get octane.. we are using Ethanol which is like.. 113 octane per gallon.. to blend up the Junk that the Oil companies are turning out..

This is a SUCCESS STORY.. one that Growth Energy is trying to get the word out with this new ad..

Growth Energy has announced the launch of a new television ad in support of the renewable fuel standard (RFS) featuring Chris Soules, an Iowa farmer and star of “The Bachelor” and “Dancing with the Stars.”

The ad points to the significant harm that the EPA’s proposal poses to America’s farmers and features Soules urging politicians in Washington to support ethanol. The ad is currently airing in Iowa, Illinois, Ohio and Indiana.

During a media call to announce the new ad, Tom Buis, co-chair of Growth Energy, called the RFS and ethanol a great American success story. “More renewable fuels like ethanol means more investments in rural communities across America,” he said. Buis noted the homegrown fuel helps consumers at the pump, drives down our dependence on foreign oil, reduces air pollution, and provides consumer choice. “It also has revitalized our rural economies,” he said.

Soules said he is excited to take part in an effort to protect a program that is important to his family’s farming operation and thousands of others. “I have been able to see firsthand the benefits of renewable fuels,” he said. In addition to impacting family farmers, Soules stressed that the RFS also helps rural families not involved in farming by providing jobs in clean energy that have helped the U.S. diversify its energy resources.

The U.S. EPA is expected to issue its final rule for the 2014, 2015 and 2016 RFS within the next week. The rulemaking is subject to a judicial deadline of Nov. 30. The final rule has been undergoing review by the White House Office of Management and Budget since Oct. 30. OMB review is a final step that must be completed before the rule is officially released.

We're moving in the right direction.. We need to get the word out and support candidates that support this policy.  The alternatives to Ethanol for Octane are much more expensive.. this truely is a Win Win Win scenerio..

The USDA has a program to increase the number of blender pumps.. there is NO REASON why EVERY COOP that has a CENEX or other RETAIL fuel Outlet should not have a Blender PUMP where we are selling the optimum 20 or 30% ethanol blend..

The Oil companies try to say that the consumer doesn't want it?  and yet they offer PREMIUM gasoline for as much as $0.50 more..?!?

I say "Let's give the Consmer a Choice" and Find out..

Do we want to send our kids over seas to protect foreign oil supplies or keep them here at home and produce ethanol?

One of these days Crude is going to explode higher again.. the RFS is NOT ONLY an economical choice but it's also a Strategic solution to the Geo Political environment we face today.

We can grow the crops.. we got the plants that can easily meet the RFS at 15 billion gallons.. we can export ethanol.. and we can wean our country OFF foriegn Crude.

Good Day.
