n.c.iowa

golfnut we installed a raven( novatel) base station last year. costs were

base station,$10k included installation and setup, we installed the receiver antennae ourselves on the top of a 30 ft power pole
correction subscription $1500 per year, unlimited subscribers. we have three subscribers now.each vehicle needs a modem, we use the slingshots $18-2800, per unit.
and that is all, other costs that we incur on a yearly basis are thus;     subscription, typically $50/month, but verizon has a business data plan and tech rep just for this, so they are at $35 per month turn on and off as needed but at least somewhere around 5 months use a year.
the base station needs a cell subscription also, for a backup modem just in case the primary communication goes down.

also like others have said you need a static ip address.  novatel specifies broadband or at least dsl, neither of which we had or in the future will have.    but we have a wireless provider for our internet needs, after some legwork by our dealer and ourselves we convinced the engineers it would work.  it has worked well, internet access for us is right around $50 a month
