We made 3 turkeys last year. First was fried, second was smoked low for 4 hrs and finished in oven, the third was smoked for 3-4 hours then finished in the fryer.
The smoked and fried was the best turkey I've ever had hands down, just remember you don't need nearly the same amount of time in the fryer!
