Paul's comment about exif information makes me wonder if your program is putting an illegal character into one of the exif fields.

I had installed Java to be able to download from the Advocate album. IE complained about security so I deleted it again. I've also already removed the photos I downloaded from there. (I try to keep a clean laptop!) Otherwise, I would look at the Exif data to see if I can spot something.

In Windows 7, I can right click a photo, click Properties, then the Details tab. Scroll around there and see if you spot anything with an unusual character. Hey, even the "&" in B&W might be enough!. Your photo editor should be able to work with this to some degree.
