NEKS | We have two kids, both have had similar issues to the OP. Both seemed to be food related: red dye, msg, high fructose corn syrup, even grapes, apples and oranges were the causes.
Controlling diet helped greatly. Our daughter grew out of it by 10 or 11. Son is 9 he is becoming less sensitive now.
My wife is a wise saint, she figured it out. She looked into the Feingold diet and used it to figure out what the offending foods were, but didn't use the diet otherwise.
