Subject: RE: ranking on excel with multiple criteria

wc mn
Put the equation in and everything comes out great. I had to change the 0 to a 1 to change my ranking order but that was an easy fix. =IF(ISNUMBER(D2),RANK(D2,$D$2:$D$11,0),"")

I would be interested in seeing the equation in one step if you ever get there.

The next question I would have is trying to come up with an average yield without the max and min values with multiple criteria. So an olympic averageifs?! Here would be an example:

HYBRID PLOT YIELD STATE
197-66 E 201 MN
197-50 E 190 MN
5499 E 204 MN
5499 E 197 MN
197-50 E 205 SD
197-66 E 228 SD
5499 L 248 SD
197-50 E 185 SD
5499 L 234 MN
197-66 E 219 SD
197-66 E 167 MN
197-50 E 154 MN
5499 L 249 SD
5499 L 239 SD
5499 E 210 MN
5499 E 211 MN
5499 L 249 SD
5499 L 239 SD
5499 E 210 MN
5499 E 211 MN
197-66 E 214 MN
197-66 E 212 MN
197-66 E 211 MN
197-66 E 212 SD
197-66 E 215 SD
197-66 E 200 SD
197-50 E 214 SD
197-50 E 212 SD
197-50 E 218 MN
197-50 E 200 MN
5499 L 250 MN
5499 L 212 MN
5499 L 262 MN
5499 L 211 MN
5499 E 207 SD
5499 E 195 SD
5499 E 186 SD
5499 E 210 SD

I am looking to come up with an average yield without the max and min of each hybrid based on the length of the test plot (e or L) and the state it was located. Hopefully you will understand what I am trying to accomplish.
