Subject: RE: Fungicide application in corn

Donnellson, IA. Makes saying here easier.
Might be the case north of here a few miles but all our fungicide fields are 3-4 points higher in moisture and still green. Its really obvious where the plane didn't get sprayed on the headlands and field borders where power lines were. Again scouted fields and selected by hybrids. Few hybrids have everything built into them. Varying soils etc is why we plant several hybrids. Didn't hear anything on this years corn we had some field averages pretty close to that this year too. As always I'm a net dollar fan so I do what makes the farm money. Long term I think fungicides can be used and managed to maintain effectiveness. I bet most of you use the same corn chemicals over and over year after year because they still work. They are all older than I am. I try things others swear work and get no return likewise this works for us and others saw nothing. Try stuff on your own acres if it doesn't work don't do it again.
