SC Wisconsin | I'd also go with a N router. For me, the reality is that my internet speed will never even get close to the maximum capacity of my router so it really doesn't matter. The AC routers do have some advantages in signal strength, more antennas, and other enhancements - but those are primarily going to be of benefit to people who doing online gaming with multiple computers, transferring large files across their network, etc. I don't really do that.
I'm partial to Asus routers myself. You pay more, but they last. Every other router I have owned seems to die about 2 years in. I have a RT-N66U currently.
