I've spent the past several days switching a 30" 7760 out to wide rows Like the Almighty intended, and have concluded if there are cottonpickers in he!!, they'll be on 30s.
2 and 1 skip would be acceptable, as the picker wouldn't need the axle spacers and the heads could be rolled apart for service and clean out.
30" cotton is a wash at best here. Corn yields are as high on 38-40" on the irrigated ground as 30".
