My first season with yield mapping. Cut wheat just calibrated monitor and got the feel of understanding it . Now on to corn and beans , want to store data ,how do I know that my card is storing data? Anywhere to look on monitor ? Thanks John

If you have a datacard installed when the display powers up, there will be a datacard icon in the upper left corner of the display (or lower left, depending on your combine model). That icon means that the display recognizes that a card is installed. If you're recording data, the icon changes to a datacard with a yellow arrow pointing to it.

For data recording with a yield monitor, you need 5 things:
1. Header below the Maximum Work Height for the current Crop Type.
2. Elevator speed between 250 and 599 RPM.
3. Ground speed 0.5mph or higher
4. Datacard installed at powerup (or USB for Pro 700)
5. Grower, Farm, Field, and Task created

As long as you have those 5 items, you should be recording data and get the icon described above. If you're harvesting but NOT recording data, you'll get a YM-241 error, which means that the flow sensor is detecting crop flow, but you're not recording data for some reason. That's when you go check #1-5 above.
