Unfortunately many LP gas dealers know very little about running engines on their product. If yours does, then great, you are ahead of most other folks. Your generator manufacturer may offer a conversion kit. A google search for small engine propane should get you lots of websites to look over.

As you probably know propane is a much more Desirable fuel for a backup generator than gasoline.

Here is a link to an Onan tech publication with a lot of good information about sizing tanks, piping, vents etc. If this link doesn't work search for "onan t-015". Most likely if you use information for an Onan of similar size (kW) to yours it will be applicable to your installation.

You don't want to get this stuff wrong.....first off doing it wrong is dangerous and second, a marginal installation will run out of "slack" at the worst possible time. Usually when its very cold!
