Texas/New Mexico Stateline | I think it is time for the old Gleaner L to move on down the road. We got a bigger machine and kept the old one "just in case" but in all reality it won't do any more harvesting here.
It is in pretty poor shape, but would harvest if it was running. I have borrowed a couple small parts off it, and it would take probably $200 to get the separator and header to operate. Plus buying a battery so they can at least start it up at the sale.
There is a local consignment auction coming up, and a lot of machinery traders come, especially from Mexico. I would like to get $3000 - $5000 for the combine. I'm just wondering how much it will hurt the resale if they can't run the machine other than the engine? Engine runs and sounds solid, tires are fair, unloading auger, concave, fairly new. Raddle chains are good. I think I already know the answer, but wondering what you would do?
