I guess my comment is, why do you want to keep them on pasture while you are trying to finish them? Is this part of your marketing program? I assume you are going to sell them direct to the consumer. They will gain faster if they are not pasturing. I've always been told that the rumen needs to have a high grain ration or a high forage ration for it to work efficiently. I think that you would be somewhere in between. I also think that you are feeding too much protein. Have someone balance a ration for you. Those 1000 lb Herefords should come right ahead on a dry corn/pellet ration for you. Nice looking calves!
