Nebraska Panhandle | Haven't done this myself yet hedging but I've been looking into it. First off I would take the money on the table now by selling your put. Buy an out of the money put that covers you until the cattle are sold to keep them covered. The shorter time period when you roll down eliminates some of the time value and should make the new put pretty cheap. When you sell cattle sell the put. | |
