West Chazy, New York | The stalks are probably going to be a little dry, and following the snapping head will mean the stalks don't feed as well into the cutterhead. You likely will end up with a lot of slivers instead of nice uniform discs from cutting the stalk feeding sideways into the knives. That said, I think if you can get it chopped fine enough you will get a better product if you add the wet distillers to the stalks before they ferment, rather than after. You probably need to add water anyway, so use the distillers to do that. |
