Subject: New Holland 8160 error code


I have a New Holland 8160 tractor. The transmission won't go into B range, it goes right from A to C. It also won't go into reverse. There is an error code F41 that comes up on the display. Does anyone know what this is?

Clinton, ON		you likely have a potentiometer gone bad on the right hand side of the transmission. There are 2 of them, one does A and C range the other B and reverse. Had this on a '97 8160 plenty of times.

I had that happen on my 8360 . I believe they are the same so u can flip flop them to see if it is truly the issue.

NW Kansas		The first thing to try is the recalibration procedure. If that doesn't fix it maybe the bad potentiometer but sometimes it just needs recalibration.
