I have a brother MFC-J870DW

It prints fine and scans fine.  

However after I print something the icon for the printer stays in my tray, IT and all other printers have gone after printing.  PLEASE KEEP READING,

IF I double click the icon the usual printer information shows that I still have the document waiting to be printed.  If I tell it to restart it would print.  It doesn't clear the print spool.

Any nice suggestions as to what I might do to correct the problem?
