Subject: Algae in fuel tank

SE IA
Magnum 245 has slowed down then pulled back to normal under load or just planting. Could be steinbauer chip could be algae in tank or something else. Have to start eliminating possibilities. Drained the tank down as far as I could but need a pump with a hose to try and drain all the sumps at the bottom of the tank. Looked in the tank with a flashlight and saw a number of different orange colored stuff at the bottom. What would that be? I know algae is black and slimy and have seen it at the dealers shop. I don't want to pull the tanks unless I have to. I put treatment in the fuel at planting time for algae. Filters haven't plugged yet. Thanks for any ideas.
