Subject: old yale forklift with Chrysler slant 6 hard to start

nc ks
We have a forklift with a gas Chrysler slant 6 in it that runs great but you almost have to have a battery charger on it to get it to fire and start reliably. It is not cranking power, it will spin over fine. It seems to me it needs the extra volts to give a hot enough spark to get it to fire. Putting new points, condensor and plugs will help for a little while. I am wondering if I could put in a Per Tronix type points eliminator kit and a new coil and maybe make it start better? Any help getting the right kit and other advice welcome. Thanks.
