Subject: RE: Olympics?

Custer County, Nebraska
I have a question perhaps someone could answer. Does a host nation get any share of media coverage revenue? And can a host nation regulate who covers the Olympics or is that determined by the IOC?

The tourist dollars are obvious as well as infrastructure investments, but media should have a fair value as well.

Back in the day, one could count on the big 3 (ABC, CBS, NBC) to cover these events, but the media is splintering more all the time. With Youtube, Netflix, Facebook, who knows how the Olympics will be covered in 2022.

In 2022, can China control who records/broadcasts the Olympics? Or perhaps by then China will realize major broadcast networks will no longer be needed to access a global audience.

Imagine if China signed an exclusive deal with Netflix, freezing out NBC/CBS/ABC.
