Were these U.S. beans or S.A. beans? Just read yesterday that Brazil farmers are now holding beans as a hedge against their inflation. Much like farmers in Argentina have been doing. Could be an interesting soybean market in the near future.


I just read yesterday that Brazil's central bank increased their interest rate to 14.25%. Turbulent times for Brazil's farmers, for sure.

I am not sure what the hedge would be for almost 15% interest...

Maybe the guys who farmed through the 80's could teach or tell me how they handled it.

I hope to never see those rates during my career
