I realize this is water under the bridge but the v. wheat is why our covers (if we plant any) go in in Aug. We are struggling with cc here. We have been NT long enough that any residue we leave just disappears. So the question becomes do we burn up what water we have growing cover that is gone by next spring or do we plant a cash crop such as milo that leaves a fairly good cover. I tried Sunn hemp in the mix for the nitrogen but no one can really tell how much you actually gained. Sometimes I think that the Buffalo Commons concept has some merit. But then it rains and I'm good to go again. Dirt
