Subject: RE: Question for northern IA soybeans

Charles City IA
Don't know about what others are doing, but I am finding I spend more on herbicides than I do seed. I start with a clean field by field cultivating twice...usually a couple weeks apart. It helps get the ground warmed up and weeds to sprout. Then take those out with the cultivator. There isn't a weed yet that is resistant to steel and its cheaper than any chemical. Plant and spray over the top with Ferce and sencor. So that gives me three modes of action. Follow up with Flexstar GT mid June. If the sprayer is going into the field it will leave some residual...that's the reason I will always chose Flexstar over cobra. Stack the residuals! It has giving me great results for the last couple years. I've even had neighbors come up to me to ask what I'm doing to yeild such good control.
