Subject: RE: Not finding the normal kernel counts

Morris, IL
That has been pretty typical around this area last few years and we have been in that 200+/- range, mostly just over if that helps. We have some kitchen sink drained ground we have 36-37k growing plants of a non flex number, field has never had a bad day, i come up with 16x40s, that 11 acres is going to be crazy good i think. We are blessed with creeks running across almost every farm, that is huge help in year like this i think. You can have all the tile you want but when your corn starts 30' from creek it just works better.

But anyway, kernel counts to me are almost useless, i've seen crazy good numbers do sub 200 and i've see really bad numbers do 225. Seems grain fill makes more of a difference then number of kernels. Don't worry about it, if things stay good it can still produce.
