Been scouting, and not just a road side scouting. Face is shredded trying to get this crop figured out. Well I am not real happy with what we are finding. Our best ground that is drained like a sink is coming up with 14 to 16 around by 30 to 35 long, 33000 actual ears. Has anyone else seen this? This the shortest ears I've seen since the drought and even then there was length it just tipped back. This not variety specific it's all brands. Why would the ears be determined so short? Or better question when does length get determined? There is going to be a lot of disappointed farmers out there because this it not normal for our area.
