Protests of this kind are french folklore like baguette and Gauloises cigarettes ;-)

Hog feeders and crop farmers had to accept the market rules, dairy farmers (not only in france) seem to feel like employees expecting a fixed monthly payment.

In fact the european milk quotas were retracted without compensation, but in a controlled and transparent process.

After the good revenues of the last years many farmers also in Germany invested into more production capacities, to make a profit out of the market liberalization...
