Subject: Feed bunk question

Frederick, Md
Using an old silage feeder to grain some beef cattle and heifers. The kind where they step up on a 7" curb with their front feet. Wondering how high to place the first board to keep them from climbing in? The dairy cows rarely climbed in, the beefers do it regularly. I hate cleaning crap from the feeder.

I want to make sure its still comfortable for them to eat but don't want them in it. TIA
