Interesting observation. A lot of people get upset about bees, but they are one small part of the puzzle. Like you said they are pretty much domesticated livestock at this point. There are many native polinators that are in decline. I think mainly because they are starving and have no job to do, not because we are killing them with pesticides.

Kind of like earthworms and other soil organisms. We are starving them, not poisoning or dismembering them. I think we could help these species by planting clover, alafala, buckwheat, etc on crp and idle acres. Corn beans and grass don't give the much of a food source.
