Gave my opinion to the prosecutor on a case of an 18 year old boy being charged with statutory rape of a 16 year old girl. By law it was a crime if the boy was over 2 years older than the girl. He was 2 years and 3 days older than the girl and they had gone together for over 2 years. Told the prosecutor that this was the stupidest waste of time that I had ever heard of.  They wouldn't even let me finish my rant, dismissed me and asked me to leave the courtroom. Read in the paper later that they reached a plea bargain and reduced the charges and gave him probation. He did not have to register as a sex offender.
