| Run Malwarebyte indeed, and uninstall all unwanted programs and browser plug-ins.
I am not too keen on CCleaner, it deletes a bit too much things and it's hard to know what until it's too late.
Check also the Startup tab of msconfig, and unselect the checkboxes that look suspicious or unnecessary.
An even better way to make the computer run faster is to image the current disk on a SSD drive and switch both.
Or reinstall Windows from scratch on the hard drive or a SSD drive, provided you have a backup of your data and programs.
