East central Iowa | I have a lot of PDF files on my computer. Sometimes I want to find something specific in one of them. Using my regular search functions or Agent Ransack never finds the information.
However I discovered that Adobe reader OR Foxit reader will search a directory and its sub directory for a word or number.
The instructions are at http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/how-to-search-for-text-inside-multiple-pdf-files-at-once/
Only caveat is the PDF file must be a searchable file. I have some banking PDF's that I had to run through my scanner and convert to a searchable PDF. It was worth it though for being able to find certain expenditures.
I also scan some bills, invoices and orders so that I can locate relevant purchases.
