Southwestern Indiana | Another thing to keep in mind is quality vs quantity of the rain. This year, we barely had more rain in June than last year, but we had 5.5 inches in one rain event that hurt of killed most of the low ground around here. Last year all the rain was very evenly spread out. I think our biggest rain for the summer was 1.5 inches and we have had that much on 5 occasions since May 1 this year. Also, much more river flooding this year vs last year. You can also argue that most crops got planted a little later this year vs last year which usually results in a yield hit.
