Are you worried about the inside or outside? If they do a good job with the Sandblaster the inside of the rim will be pitted, but nothing will be sharp. It will not hurt the tube. If your worried about the outside, spray them with filling primer and them sand them smooth. Probably take several coats but it will make them look new.
