NW Central Ohio
Depending on what kind of grazing you need...it might behoove you to look at something like this.

....This is a BMR. soybean, field pea mixture.

Pro-Ton+ works well as a summer to early fall annual forage.
It gives the farmer the option of growing a high yielding
forage which is ready to graze approximately 21 days after
planting, at a height of 16” to 29”. Also, rotational graz-
ing works well, as the regrowth is very rapid allowing heavy
grazing.
The high quality forage of Pro-Ton+ is attributed to the
brown mid-rib sorghum sudangrass. Pro-Ton+ is very digest-
ible, and is high in lysine and low in lignin. The soybeans and
peas are high in protein providing a balanced ration essential
to good growth.
Pro-Ton+ Management Practices
SEEDING
Pro-Ton+ can be drilled (using the soybean setting) or
broadcast. If broadcast, a cultipacker should also be used to
ensure good seed to soil contact.
Planting Pro-Ton+ in warm soils (60°-65°) will enable quick
emergence, which will help suppress weed competition.
Seed Rate: 100 - 125 lbs/acre
Seeding Depth: ½” - 1”
Fertilizer Requirements: 60 - 80 lbs. NPK
HARVEST
Pro-Ton+ is usually ready to cut 55-65 days after planting.
Pro-Ton+ planted in late May can provide a second cutting
in the fall. Yield potential on two cuttings is 15-20 ton at 50%
dry matter.
Pro-Ton+ planted after wheat in Mid-July normally yields 11-
13 ton per acre at 50% dry matter.
**Prussic Acid levels will rise after a frost or freezing. It is
recommended to remove animals from pasture for at least 7
days to allow Prussic Acid levels to drop to a safe level.
