While it is Canadian, they have a really good book called the real dirt on farming that explains agriculture and has lots of facts and suggestions you could talk about. You could even order the book. They also have a speakers training program just for situations like you are taking on. They would likely send you the program info and now they have draft power point slides that you can use to start a presentation if you are so inclined.
Thanks for taking the time to speak to non farming people, we need to do more of it.
The advice when I took the Real Dirt on Farming training session, was to make your talk personal, and just tell the story of what your farm is and why you do what you do, and if you don't know the answer to the questions, just say so and suggest people that might be able to answer the questions. | |
