Avoid the 359 engine. Had '89 9400 and the engine was way under powered especially in beans. Other people who had them broke the cranks when the harmonic balancer fell off. Traded for a '92 9400 with the larger motor and was happy with it. My old machine broke the crank a year later from what I heard from the local mechanic.
9400 is great combine but 359 is a money pit-we bought a 91' model with around 100 hrs. on it and under warranty it had a few pistons changed, broken ring, new head all doneover a couple of yrs. under warranty, we ran it until around 1,675 e hrs. and had a new harmonic balancer put on it and then traded it...new owner said 50 hrs. later crank broke.......now a 414 in a '93 or newer is OK , But at 5k hrs. anyhthing can go wrong , I would not buy it |
