Am I in the only area in Illinois that is not done planting beans? I keep hearing about all the other states but if I had to guess there is still at least 10% left here to plant that very well may not happen. Probably another 10-15% that needs replanted but i realize that doesn't matter.


No, you aren't. Although not a huge percentage by any means, there's probably ~3--5%~ of beans to plant within a 15-25 mile radius here. I'd guess if it doesn't rain any more, most of these fields would be getting close to dry enough by weekend, although with the cloudy weather things aren't drying very fast. As one might suspect, there's a much larger percentage that are drowned out/thin/look like crap. But IMO, the bigger story is the large amount of corn acreage that is very yellow and has accumulated nearly enough GDUs to begin tasseling within a week-10 days.
