Subject: RE: Resurvey by NASS

Mason City, IL
I was done planting in good time. Then it started raining. Had some herbicide flown on some beans. Held off on 2 farms in case of more rain. Good thing I waited to spray as they are now under water due to flooding of Salt Creek here in Mason County. I have a lot of drowned out areas on all my farms. I figure i have lost 31% of my soybeans and will be a couple of weeks before water is gone and dries enough to plant, so I guess I'm still done planting soybeans. On the corn side I have lost about 18% due to drown out and not sure how much more is severely stunted/damaged due to excessive moisture. Can't see how much still has water standing until plants fall over, which is starting to happen. Old clay tile just couldn't keep up. Suppose to begin replacing old tile this fall, to bad it didn't get done last year.
