SE IL | I use SyncBackFree for backup software to a large USB drive. I also use Mozy to backup to the cloud. They are owned by EMC Corp, which is a 2 billion dollar company. I trust a publicly traded company more than some of these flighty services. However, I don't really trust Google!
I specify what folders to backup on Mozy. I have about 70gb there now. I don't backup videos, but I do pictures. I like cloud services that offer incremental backups. I work on a large database and if I make a minor change, it only uploads than minor change instead of the whole database. That is key when using a slow, rural ISP. I live in town where I have 30 download/3 mbps upload.
Also, check out usb 3.0 if you are still using 2.0 for backups. It will speed them up a lot.
