Subject: RE: Backup software?

Backup is built in Windows, check your Accessories Start menu, depending on the version.
Do weekly full backups and daily incremental ones to your external drive, one system backup every few months too.
Never had a problem with it, and I use a third copy on the cloud for real important documents, as only 3 copies (main, backup and cloud) offer a near 100% probability of restoration in case somethings go wrong. Cloud backups like Google Docs also keep an history of your documents for a short while, so you can restore more than just the last version, but even cloud backup like Backblaze doesn't replace a local external backup where you can keep as many copies as storage space allows, or even use the external drive for permanent archival, not just backup of whatever you have on your computer (meaning that once a document is deleted, after a while, it gets deleted from the backup too.)
