Jeff - 6/16/2015 19:00 I'm with Wheat77..............what's up with the dry onion soup mix, bread crumbs or eggs? Straight ground beef patty for me! Let everyone season it to their own taste when it hits the table.

The eggs and bread  crumbs are not for seasoning, they hold the patties together. Often, home made, real burger meat can tend to not stick together. They are not for seasoning. Bread crumbs and eggs impart no flavor.

Ground beef does not need anything to hold it together. Cooking a hamburger has seemed have taken on a new rookie category. I have been cooking beef on the grill for 35 years. You don't need to add "anything".

I am scarcely a rookie. lol I probably do not "need" to add anything. But I do, and people like my burgers, and ask how they are so consistent etc. so I don't think it is hurting me the "rookie". lol

We make meatloaf, with eggs and some bread crumbs mostly oatmeal.
