Ditto here on the Windows tablet. The desktop sees very little use now.
8.1 works for me. I do have a notebook running 8.1 which is not as handy as the tablet, but I only do a few tasks with the notebook so that is not a big deal.
Not sure why so much opposition to 8.1, but so be it.
