Somewhereville, Earth | I have a an external data mgmt facility that requires a polygon shapefile (map coloured in lame mans terms), at the moment i have what ever I can export out of SMS advanced. In a generic form this is .kml, .kmz, .shp (point data not polygon), .jpg, geotiff etc, the current .shp export from SMS appears as a line. there is ways of getting a polygon shape file out of SMS and i know how to do it, but i am looking for a more stream line solution considering the volume of files that may come,
is there any options out there I have for stand alone software that can handle this requirement easy (given the data will provide a swath width), there will be a few files, so i want to batch export from SMS and manipulate to pass on to the 3rd party, to meet there requirements.
Do you who have farmworks, sgis, etc have this functionality, if is it possible you can send me an example so I can look at it to figure out what works.
I know its a strange ask, I am a strange person!
