Subject: RE: planted soybeans too deep

Im in exactly the same boat. So upseting to me. 5 years with an old Tye drill and I have patched beans in all 5 years. It plants sporadically from on top of the ground to 3" deep. I've tried everything. High pops, drag chains, rolling baskets, cultipackers and nothing but a press wheel. I have always gotten by but have reached my wits end this year. Beans have been in the ground for 11 days. Some are at the first trifoliate others are still in the ground. Called my buddy with a split row planter and asked him to come and redo all of them this weekend. I hereby vow to never plant beans with that drill again. I give up. So its either hire it out of buy a $40000 planter I guess. Of course the ones I spilled in my driveway that are sitting on top of the goind are growing like wild fire. Good luck
