risk premium appears to have been coming out of new crop corn and beans at a healthy clip this spring, and that improves the odds of a short-covering rally at some point since there is more time to cover while waiting for the crop to mature....

so I certainly won't argue against taking a flyer on some bean calls......

but your statement about "10 myn acres left to plant on June 1" did send me back to the NASS archives.....and it said the 2014 bean crop was 78% planted on June 1, 2014,,,,,,which means we still had over 18 million acres left to plant on 6/1/14
