Subject: Brake cleaner, some better than others?

Mid-Missouri
I am interested in finding out if some brake cleaner is better than others. I would like to use it to dissolve old, dried up grease that is hard to access, to prepare it for paint. It seems chlorinated cleaner is more potent but more dangerous if welding around it, even after it evaporates. The power of the aerosol can seems to help wash away the dirt and grease, which is nice, but I suspect I could buy the gallon containers cheaper.

Any advice appreciated.
