The Far East...of Nebraska. | Thor, my wife is an slp, I'm a little surprised by the under 50k thing. Not so much in the schools if she hasn't been there long, but the medical field should be higher than that. It is possible she is being underpaid monetarily but the benefits are worth a lot if she's full time.
Some people get sick of the medical field nonsense that a company or location puts you through and just contract their services. She ought to be worth 40 an hour at the bare minimum. These companies prey on the nice ladies that seem to become slp's, ot's, ot's etc.
If you contract services into a school I think the state minimum is 50 something.
Anyway, they are in an under appreciated but very important field. |
