I'm sure the engineers have found a way to make the towers last just the bare minimum of the required lifespan.

They do coat the bottoms where they go in the ground with something.

The ones on the straight parts are just set in a hole like a fence post. The turns have a cement base and are bolted to the top. At least the ones right near us.


It is amazing how many transmission lines have been built around here the past 10 years.
