Grew up on the farm and thought you had to live there or in sight of it till I went thru divorce then remarried. Moved 18 miles from the farm and realized it wasn't so bad, gave a guy some time to get a gameplan together in the mornings and time to wind down after work instead of barging straight in the house after a stressful day of work. Moved 3 yrs ago about 9 miles from farm and that made it better but still there are times it would be handier to be right there or wish the kids were right there more often. My Dad always lived right on the farm and he tried to semi retire and it didn't work the way he wanted, he said everyday when he walked out of the house he saw everything that needed to be done and he could never slow down till he packed up and moved off the farm.
