I imagine a pilot would be in charge going out the north channel until they reach open sea off the south side.
Reports say there was a power failure or at least a steering failure and it drifted onto the reef.
Nothing but reef for kilometres to the north, just one channel along north shore of land so not much room for error.
No doubt a pilot and captain will get some checking out. | |
